Just by hearing this you might have got some clue but believe me it’s much more than what we can imagine. Researches have shown that a minimum of 8 hours of sleep is required for a sound mind.  To be practical, it is not possible for any of us to get 8 hours of sleep every night. At such circumstances, I propose you take naps. If you think nap stuffs are only for the kids then you are mistaken. Taking a short nap of 20-30 minutes is like taking glucose water, re-energizes your brain. It like taking a time-out from the rushes of your daily life, time to hold your breath and get ready for a go! You can take naps even at you workplace, at the lunches or any other time that you may find suitable.

It has been found among the teen agers the hobbies that they take often involve late night wake ups, whether it is net surfing or hacking or playing videogames, they are usually found to have stayed awake late in the night time. This not only affects your brain and its performance, as we have already seen but also is liable to cause many disorders, health related, like gastritis and insomnia. You will have pimples and black spots all over your face just because of insufficient sleep. So I suggest, if you have such hobbies, you’d better shift and manage some other time or you sick out such hobbies. I know it’s not as easy as it is to give out suggestions but you will have a lot better performance when you get a good sleep. I may remind you, getting sound sleep also means avoiding late night TV shows.
Reduced sleeping hours at the exams also reduces the amount of study stuffs that goes into your brain. As a result, your examination grades are reduced proportionately. Hence, a better alternative can be taking a minimum of 7-8 hours sleep and keeping your brain sound thought the day. But that does not allow you to prolong you sleeping hours say for 12-14 hours.
